FieldMaker
Features and Benefits
FieldMaker
provides FIMS users with the ability to add an unlimited number
of fields to one or more of the major FIMS outer modules. We have
highlighted some of the features and benefits of this module below.
For a more complete description of what FieldMaker has to offer,
please download our product sheet.
- Integrates
with FIMS outer modules: FieldMaker integrates seamlessly
with FIMS outer modules: Profiles, Gift and Donor, Pledges, Grantee
and Grants, Scholarship and Funds. This integration allows users
to use FIMS more efficiently in a familiar environment. Now when
an organization wants to track the interest area of a donor, a
field with user-defined codes specifying various interest areas
can be added to the Profile module and Gift & Donor module.
These codes can be modified, affording a flexible tool that extends
the usefulness of FIMS.
- Easily
maintain your FieldMaker fields: The FieldMaker maintenance
system is a centralized system that allows the user to add, update
and delete the user-defined field definitions. The FieldMaker
module was designed to assist organizations that require more
extensive coding systems. Maintaining the system, however, is
not difficult.
- Customized
screen layouts and placement within core modules: The user
can define one or more screen layouts for the maintenance modules
user-defined file, such as a combo box, editor (character only),
fill in, radio button set, selection list (character only), or
toggle box (logical only). By associating a screen layout to a
FIMS file, the user also can determine the module in which the
screen layout will appear, such as in the Profile browser, Donor
browser or Grantee browser. This flexibility further allows organizations
to tailor FIMS to suit its needs.
- File
Associations: File associations eliminate the need for separate
user-defined files for unposted/history file pairs in FIMS, such
as gift/gifthistory and application/apphistory/grants. File associations
also provide the option to use the same user-defined file for
closely related file pairs, such as Profile, Donor and Grantee.
