Fund
Management Features and Benefits
The
Fund Management module identifies funds or projects at the
foundation and organizes general information, transaction history,
and General Ledger data under the fund or project name for easy
access. We have highlighted some of the features and benefits of
this module below. For a more complete description of what the Fund
Management module has to offer, please download our product sheet.
- Fund
Record:
Maintains a basic record of information for each fund or project.
The Fund record identifies and describes each funding source or
project, and, because of system integration, links the fund to
transactions and events throughout FIMS.
- Coding
System: Categorize funds a number of ways and create General
Ledger accounts automatically. The system creates appropriate
General Ledger accounts incorporating the fund codes, and statements
can be rolled up based on any of these categories.
- Fund-level
Information: Quickly view lifetime and annual summary statistics
for any fund using a quick, on-screen review of historic activity.
- Gift
and Grant Information:
View every contribution to the fund and grant made by the fund,
including the original gift and grant entry records. Make quick
inquiries into contribution and grant detail for a fund.
- Administrative
Fee: FIMS allow foundations to define a wide range of fee
structures. You specify the frequency of calculation, and the
General Ledger account balances on which the fees are based.
- Available-To-Grant
Calculation: Set up an available-to-grant calculation that
reflects your General Ledger configuration and policy. The calculation
ties into the Grants module and warns if an entered grant will
overdraw the fund.
- Fund
Designee/Purpose: Set the designee or purposes of each fund.
Use these distribution records for designated funds to record
the percentage allocations among one or more specific grantees.
- Asset
Rebalancing: Maintain investment strategies at the organizational
or fund level using the asset rebalancing feature. View current
asset distribution among investment accounts and readjust the
portfolio for a specific fund. Set investment targets globally
or for categories of funds.
