organization involved in fund raising or endowment building should
consider the Pledge Management module in their integrated
suite of FIMS modules. It provides foundations an easy, automatic
system for complying with Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB)
requirements regarding recording unconditional promises.
FIMS
creates a payment schedule automatically when you set up a Pledge
and enter certain information, such as the recipient fund and date
of first payment. A debit and credit are automatically made in General
Ledger Journal when a pledge is posted. Foundations also can design
any type of irregular payment schedule.
Categorize
pledge using user-defined code fields. View instant on-screen information
on the status of any pledge or pledge installment, including all
the detailed data entered initially. See whether the pledge has
been paid, when it was paid, or how much is outstanding.
Export
pledge data to send acknowledgement letters to the donors. Send
reminder letters to those for whom pledge payments are due. Create
pledge acknowledgements or reminders automatically by linking to
Microsoft Word, and vary thank you letter text depending on gift
type.
