Safety*Net Safety*Net is NPO’s emergency hosting solution that provides foundations the use of their data and applications during an emergency, such as a power outage, fire or storm, that makes the office computers temporarily unusable. Organizations can access their information system from any location with an Internet connection: a temporary office, or even a home computer. Simply provide NPO access to a backup copy of the foundation database. Foundations then can use their unique programs and reports, such as AP check format and report defaults, by running the Foundation Information Management System (FIMS) over the Internet and conducting business as usual. Safety*Net capitalizes on the features of NPO’s Host*Net, a full-service application and data hosting service that allows FIMS users to access their data and software via the Internet.
