Safety*Net
Safety*Net
is NPOs emergency hosting solution that provides foundations
the use of their data and applications during an emergency, such
as a power outage, fire or storm, that makes the office computers
temporarily unusable.
Organizations
can access their information system from any location with an Internet
connection: a temporary office, or even a home computer. Simply
provide NPO access to a backup copy of the foundation database.
Foundations then can use their unique programs and reports, such
as AP check format and report defaults, by running the Foundation
Information Management System (FIMS) over the Internet and conducting
business as usual.
Safety*Net
capitalizes on the features of NPOs Host*Net,
a full-service application and data hosting service that allows
FIMS users to access their data and software via the Internet.

Safety*Net
Features and Benefits
In
the event of an emergency, NPO provides up to four hours of
support via Safety*Net to:
- Establish
a secure, accessible operating environment for FIMS.
- Set
up a Web page for remote access/use.
- Get
your remote users online by helping them to connect via
their Web browser, or assist them with the installation
of the full Citrix ICA client.
Normally
this will be more than enough time, but if additional hours
are necessary, or other assistance relating to the disaster
recovery efforts (i.e. consulting) is required, these hours
will be chargeable at NPO's normal hourly rate.

NPO
will host your information management system via Host*Net
for 10 business days. Additional days are available at a per
user license/per day rate. The daily fee (beyond the 10 days)
can be applied toward your permanent use of FIMS via Host*Net,
if you let NPO serve as an ongoing host for your FIMS application.
Host*Net
combines our FIMS software with the latest online network-computing
technologies, providing NPO customers the option of one-stop,
comprehensive computing. Instead of buying software and servers,
subscribe by paying one monthly fee to use applications maintained
and powered by NPOs Data Center.
