FIMS
support is a comprehensive program that provides foundations the
resources for enhancing their knowledge about FIMS. Not only are
FIMS support staff available for telephone and e-mail support throughout
the day, but NPO assigns each client a key supporter who becomes
familiar with that client's particular needs.
The
key supporter assigned to your foundation during software implementation
usually is the foundation's main contact for all FIMS-related support
during the implementation stage. We have found the key supporters
role to be an invaluable tool for foundations, as both the foundations
and NPO can build on the relationship as the foundation moves into
more advanced features of FIMS.
During
the implementation phase, your key supporter assesses the financial
management structure of your foundation: cash flow, accounting techniques,
pools, administration fees, spending policy and other financial
management areas. This helps your key supporter assess how to maximize
the benefits of FIMS in such areas as coding funds, designing the
general ledger, setting up pools, coding administration fees, designing
initial fund and/or financial statements and designing a sample
gift acknowledgment letter.
After
devising an implementation schedule and installing FIMS at your
foundation, your key supporter trains and educates the staff on
how to maximize FIMS at your particular foundation. We help you
through the more complex FIMS tasks, such as entering/posting vouchers
and checks, reconciling/allocating in the fund and account tracking
system, and running spending policy, the first time you perform
them.
