Regional Hands-On FIMS Training
Each year, hundreds of foundation staffers attend regional
hands-on FIMS training seminars, covering either basic or
advanced FIMS topics. In addition to the FIMS instruction,
these intensive, one-week programs provide the opportunity
to network and exchange valuable information with other community
foundations about best business practices and effective FIMS
techniques.
Customized
Regional Hands-On Training
We encourage foundations to arrange group seminars with
neighboring foundations in coordination with a FIMS trainer.
Participants help coordinate a training session within driving
distance, keeping traveling expenses down.
FIMS On-Site Visits
On-site training can include seminar-style presentations for
the entire staff or small groups, and/or "over-the-shoulder"
guidance using a foundations Test and Learn Database.
The Test and Learn Database allows foundations to learn FIMS
using a copy of your actual data, without the fear of altering
"live" information. On-site training can be tailored
to a foundation's needs and to address specific issues at
the foundation.
FIMS
Optimization Analysis
The FIMS Optimization Analysis is a special on-site visit
designed to help clients get the most out of FIMS. It is
designed for foundations that are not new to FIMS or may
have experienced staff turnover. An NPO trainer will conduct
an analysis of FIMS usage by any or all departments that
determines where FIMS is being underutilized. The trainer
will provide suggestions and recommendations to help your
organization fully optimize FIMS' features, thereby streamlining
your processes.

FIMS Online Training
NPO provides two types of live, online training: individualized
training that focuses on the needs at a specific foundation,
and online classroom training that allows several foundations
to participate in a remote FIMS training session. Both allow
foundations to receive instruction about FIMS without ever
leaving the office.
With our individualized online training, NPO instructors use
remote-connectivity software to connect to your computer via
modem or the Internet and teach staff over the phone using
a copy of your real data in the Test and Learn Database. With
a speaker phone, two or three people may participate. Training
is tailored to the needs of the individual and arranged in
discrete blocks of time to minimize the disruption of the
regular work schedule.
Our
online classroom training employs WebEx, an interactive, online
meeting center that allows several customer sites to attend
FIMS sessions at one time. All participants view FIMS on the
trainer's workstation and are connected via telephone.
Our
online class
schedule is now available.
Price: $155 per hour for individualized online training
sessions. Online classroom training will be priced on a per-session
basis. Call Nola Frost, our training coordinator, at 603-224-6766,
for pricing details.
